Our Story

With 25+ years of experience listening to, and interacting with, readers on our own editorial websites in The Book Report Network, we know what they expect to see on a website to turn them into buyers. As journalists, we know the kinds of information that needs to be readily available to be sure the media has what it needs, quickly.

Since 1996, when our parent company The Book Report Network launched its flagship editorial website, Bookreporter, we have been talking to readers and promoting books and authors. Through the years we created editorial websites for kids, teens, 20somethings and graphic novels. Working with these varied demographics gave us a strong knowledge of these key target markets.

In 2020 we pared back our editorial websites to just Bookreporter and ReadingGroupGuides to allow us to concentrate more on our Bookreporter Talks To video/podcast series, and the programs that we developed like our “Bookaccino Live” events and “Bookaccino Live” Book Group programs.

More than 375 authors and publishing professionals have built websites with AuthorsOnTheWeb since 2000. Each site is custom-designed to meet a client’s individual needs. After outlining a project plan that reflects your goals, we work on the design and text to ensure that voice, tone and attitude are consistent and compelling. While we know design is important, we also make suggestions for content and features that we feel will best reflect your personal story and brand as it applies to your product.
